WTB: Westinghouse branded 6BD4 or 6BD4A

Hello all,

I'm looking for a Westinghouse or RCA branded 6BD4, or a Westinghouse branded 6BD4A. I'd like to get the correct shunt tube in the 15 inch Westy.

Thanks,
Ben

You can get those tubes from many sources if the brand does not matter. But in Bens case I'd assume the brand matching the set is just as important as the type numbers matching based on the rairity/desirability of his set.*

Ben, you might want to try giving ESRC in Orlando a call. Their warehouse is big and if they are willing to sort for a good one of the right brand, then they should be able to get you what you want.

*I've seen radio collectors do an extreme version of matching tubes to factory brand/type, and search for some extremely rare variant of some 20's or 30's tube to perfect their restorations. It is an extra mile I don't often go or have time and money to pursue, however I can respect that kind of dedication.

That's exactly why I'm looking for pre-61 Westinghouse tubes to populate the H840CK15 with.

I did the same thing with my Sparton 301 Equasonne. I came close selling a damn kidney to pay for a pair of Sparton 50 triodes.
