Free Chromacolor 2

I'm hoping someone on here will give this a good home since I'd hate to see it scrapped or fish tanked. It has an amazing picture about 90 percent of the time. It recently started intermittently going dark. I cleaned some module contacts but that didn't help it. I didn't go any further since the wife isn't really a fan of it anyway. It's a 23" console.

If the 9-88 module has a flat white resistor pack resolder it.
This was a "check every one" problem. Almost all had cold
joints but often not acting up yet.

If I lived closer I'd take it, even though I don't have room for it.

That's a beautiful set.

The 23" chromacolor CRTs were the best made that can a sub for any other 23" delta-gun CRT. I'd recommend trying to preserve the whole set, but if you can't at least save the CRT....Some would give $100+ for a known good one.

Thanks, I tried that already. I'd love to fix this tv but it doesnt exactly have the wife approval factor going for it and I have no place to store it. Interestingly though I noticed that tapping around didn't seem to do anything and of course I can't get it to act up when I have the back off. I noticed that if I turn it off and back on again though the problem corrects itself for a while. I did that yesterday and it ran fine for the whole rest of the day.

I just noticed the screw hole plugs in the base. Does the cabinet have real wood in it, or at least something other than plastic? That would be quite unusual for one of those.

Sounds like the behavior of my daily watcher before I decided to re-cap it, it was driving me nuts. I would think I had discovered the source of the problem only for it to re-surface shortly after. One day it was behaving quite well until I opened the door to the deck and some cool air got in, then the picture got really dark.

One thing I've seen on earlier zeniths is the video output transistors going intermittent...

It is good to have some amount of man space so you can own and enjoy things you like that have 0 WAF....There are some things girls like that I can't stand, and if I meet a girl that likes those things she'll have to have her own space to have those things with 0 HAF.

I do go to the Nashville area once in a great while. The only issue is I don't have any way to bring it with me there since we just have a car.

I only have one day at a time off, driving to k-ville is a 7 hour + round trip. If anyone is going from K-ville to the Nashville area i would be interested. I love these sets, please don't throw it out. Maybe i can arrange something. Mike
