Empty 50's Motorola TV cabinet spotted at estate sale

Was at an estate sale today, and I saw what looked like a 50's era wooden TV console cabinet. Opened the doors, sure enough, it used to have a TV. Used to. But it seems the owner made no effort to make it into a liquor cabinet. Seems they just left it as an empty TV cabinet. Maybe a TV repairman took the chassis and CRT to his shop, reported an expensive repair estimate, and the owner said forget it, toss the chassis? They must have liked the cabinet style, though. Cabinet had the TV to the right, and some record storage to the left. Didn't see if there was anything that would play records...

The Motorola logo was their older squiggle, the one before their current bat wing pattern.

Likely that's what happened. That's how most old repair shop got a collection of early sets in their shops. The owner was told it's time for a new set, and they just left the old one at that shop. An empty cabinet is nearly worthless. A good opportunity if you have a chassis for it though.
