Working Muntz S17P-70 Portable

I picked up a Muntz S17P-70 portable with a group of other stuff. The previous owner said that it worked. I plugged it in and it does have a nice raster and sound, but I never put a "real" signal to it, and I am sure it could use a recap, etc. But here you have it. It does have some blemishes on the safety glass. I don't have any cleaning products nearby to see if it's scratches or dirt, kinda looks like both.

$50, pickup near Mansfield OH.

Awesome set, if I was local I'd be on my way.
Looks like it works too, all five of the capacitors must still be good.

What a novel control panel. I'd love to know how that tuning mech works.

The large channel selector knob has gear teeth around the OD of the knob, right below the top surface of the cabinet, that meshed with another large nylon gear, that turned the tuner shaft. The whole arrangement seemed to be a rather neat design!

Dang! I only realize it is for sale after it sold. You need to Put "For Sale" in your thread title/thread. Many folks like me only ever hit the new posts button, and have no clue which section a thread is in when reading it. I thought you had just bought the thing for $50.

This item is in the Classified section. Why does he have to list is "For Sale"?

Brings a little flag of attention to it. Hell, I might have bought it myself!

Eric's comment made me LOL!

Some people don't ever go into the individual sections, and instead use the new posts button at the top of the page to find threads to read....Yeah the section each link comes from is next to each link in fine print, but who reads that? If you don't know which section it is in and it is worded like he did it can easily be mistaken for a "look what I just bought" thread.

Also especially if no pictures are posted and wording is sufficiently terse it can be hard to distinguish between want adds and for sale adds (even if you know it is in the classifieds).
