Florida is pretty sparse TV collector wise...I can think of 3-5 in your state, so the odds of one in your county are slim. It is a TERRIBLE place to try and start a TV collection...The first ~2 years of my TV collecting hobby were when I still lived there (best move I've ever made was leaving Lakeland Fl., it's a mad house), and all I could find searching were a couple of generic 50's monochrome sets...Seems like the early post war stuff and tube color sets simply don't exist there.

It's a very rich/poor state (the rich throw away anything old, the poor never had it). No basements (room) to keep old stuff. Hurricanes come through and destroy everything with some frequency. Mold gets whatever remains. Many new arrivals come from places that didn't have television until the late 80s.

And that's just what the travel brochures say.

All as above, plus people who move from 'up north' clear out older stuff prior to the move, so as not to pay by the pound for dragging it down there.

Quick search of various Craigslist locations in FL turns up several interesting sets from 50's, 60's, etc. No problem there. As far as whether or not there are people down there who collect and know what they are doing I have no clue.

I'm here in Orlando. Best thing that came out of this state was a CTC-7. Beat to hell but it was a smooth restoration. It is so bad here we have had to drive out of state just to get a decent 12 inch admiral. We even drove all the way to Massachusetts to pick up a CTC-5. Horrible state for collectors.
