Parting out a 1948 RCA set

Have an 8T241 that's beyond reasonable restoration, due to rotted/mouse eaten wiring and LOTS of rust. Most of the magnetics (minus VOT), HV cage, etc. look fine. Cabinet salvageable, brass trim missing, no knobs. CRT tests very weak but if someone wants a dud 10BP4 for something it's here and still under vacuum.

Will slowly pull off anything reasonably worth saving, and eventually haul the thing to the dump to get it out of the way. If anyone needs anything from it, let me know.

Power transformer already taken. I do have one pulled from a 721TS, which looks pretty similar. If interested, shoot me a PM...

Do you have the CRT mask? If so, is it what is termed "double D" by some. I have an 8T-243 with what I consider to be the ugly rectangular mask. I have long wanted to find the roundie or double D mask and place it in my set. It should just be a painted piece of wood screwed into the front cover if that model is close in design to mine.

Some would say that I would be destroying the set's value and/or originality by doing that, but I have seen a Canadian version of my set with this setup from the factory. On top of that, if I have to look at the think every day, I may as well have it look the way I think it should. LOL! I gather that there's not a lot of value to one of them anyway as I've never been able to drum up any interest when trying to make room around here.

You'd think that a good BP4, tubes, flyback and decorative things like the back cover and knobs would be enough to get a 40s RCA collector out here. The parts were the same for many sets of that era. Actually, if I were smarter, I would part the thing out and likely come out better than if the set were sitting here for sale playing. I just try not to dismantle anything that old and still complete and repairable.
