Hello from Canada!

Hi there, this is my first post here. I've had an interest in video equipment and television as well as vintage audio over the last couple decades. Mainly into Betamax, U-matic and EIAJ-1, even have a working Sony skip-field recorder re-badged as General Electric. Hope to learn and share more in future!
Max from BC.

Welcome.

I'm interested in obsolete electronic recording formats too, and that interest has led me to acquire VHS (well I actually had that format before it was obsolete), 8mm, Beta, U-matic (I've got Sony's flagship model), EIAJ, as well as Selectavision/CED, LD videodisc formats...And that is only counting the video formats I've acquired.

If only we could get some more Canadian members out East. (D'oh! BBCode strikethrough doesn't work here)

Scratch that, less collectors here, more stuff for me (still not much though!)

I like re-badged stuff as long as there's quality under the hood, especially store brands, more interesting to me. My JCPenney-branded Quasar Electronic Satellite remote comes to mind.

I'm a new member and from Canada too!

I think I still have one or two U-Matics hiding somewhere in the attic... I also have a Black&White Sony AV-3650 Videocorder.
