Could you post a picture of the side knob of the AM/FM set. I have that model, and mine is missing that knob.

I sold the 60 Zenith on CL. Strangely, I sold both my 60 and 61 Zenith consoles on craigslist this week to two different guys who actually wanted to stick them in their living rooms and use them for a TV as they were intended (but not a main set) . Whenever I put a console up on craigslist I worry it will end up going to some idiot who wants to make a giant cat box out of it. But it seems like that sort of thing was much more common when I lived in southern California than here in Michigan.

I should take the other version of the 1956 RCA portable.
I have a european 625 line 220V/AC - CCIR version, sold in Italy (with a sticker from a TV shop of Rome!) of it. RARE!
Mine is missing a knob and I want a good spare CRT.
Please send me the total incl. shipping.
Payment by Western Union.

Many thanks,

TV-collector

P.S. do you have a 7JP4 X-ray shield to add?

Why would a tube rated at 6KV need an X-ray shield?

I thought 6 KV X-rays can't get through ordinary thickness glass.

Most, but not all 7JP4's have a magnetic radiation shield mounted on the neck. If they are close to a large transformer, they may have a neck and bell shield. It depends on how critical accurate registration is.

I think I might have a spare one of those 7JP4 covers, I'll look for it tomorrow, and get back to you then.

I did find an extra one of those 7JP4 shields.

I want to actually pack them, then measure the boxes and weigh them to get an accurate shipping cost. I just haven't had time to do that yet, I'll get to it in the next few days.

white RCA - red RCA

White RCA is sold.

As for the 'wavy looking' picture on the red one - The problem it had was that the vertical sync would run at the right frequency, but it just would not stay put. It turned out that there was video mixed in with the sync pulses even after the sync separator circuit. I couldn't find a cause, and finally added in an extra capacitor to filter out the video from the sync pulses. This worked, and the vertical stayed still. But, if you look at that test pattern pic I posted, you can see my solution fixed the vertical, but messed up the horizontal. Remove that capacitor and the 'wavy' picture will go away, but the vertical will roll. It's odd that the effect is so noticeable in the test pattern, but not so much in the Rockford Files picture above.

The red RCA is sold now too.

All that's left is the Admiral and some CRTs.
