Sony U matic VO 2600

For free local pickup is this beastly Sony Umatic 3/4 inch VTR.
Has been in storage since the mid 90's.Was working great back then,now it will not load a cassete.Belts are most likely deteriorated.Low hours,My father got this new 30+ years ago..
Free for pick up from 11050,NY.

I'm interested in the machine, but not able to get out there right away. If you're not in a big hurry to get rid of it, I should be able to pick it up in a few weeks, if that works for you.

Used to work on those 20-30 years ago. Loading wouldn't go usually because of the rubber loading ring drive pulley or whatever it was called that presses against the inside of the tape loading ring which wraps the tape around the head drum. Replaced a bunch of them, and the belts too. Panicsonic and JVC had gear drive loading and didn't suffer from that problem.

I doubt it. S0NY is known to discontinue parts for more recent units than that after so many years, or when they run out. If there's a demand maybe someone rebuilds those loading ring drive pulleys like they do capstan rollers.
