Bill will not likely want too much, maybe a bit for gas money--BUT he will not be in FL till Dec. Like I said. If you can hold at least the combo till then---he will pick it up and bring it to me--when he comes back up here.

Hmmm... That's quite a long time, but probably can be done.. I would need some kind of deposit on it if I were to hold it.. Last person that PM'ed me that wanted it, ended up not replying back to my messages sent from here and the emails I sent to his email address..

I DO want at least the combo, and I can send you some money to hold it. HOWEVER...There IS something I wish you would do (and likely a LOT of people here would like this too..) and that is to take some more pix's of this set--wiht the rear cover OFF_, showing the stereo chassis and tv chassis. I am VERY curious of which set it it, I figure a 26KC20 or maybe a 27KC20...but i could indeed be wrong..

It will take removing stuff off of it and moving the whole unit out into the hallway to take pics.. I'm almost tempted to remove the pic tube from the combo unit and donate it to the Zenith blonde.. Do you have an extra pic tube for the combo unit, if I were to do that?

Well....IF it will accept a 21FJ instead of a 21FB--I should have at least 2 tubes that would work. One is Channel Master from 1979, shows very good IIRC, the other is a rebuild from 1970 I think by "Superior video", not sure how good it is, have not had time to test it. BUT---I would need all of the mounting hardware and neck gear (yoke, conv, lateral and purity stufff), left with the set--to do that.

I could leave all that with the combo unit.. I think all 60's era roundie tubes are interchangeable..

Well....I did a quick check or my superior round tube today, when I took that NAP C-8 set to the garage. (BTW--the C-8 set Seems to work, at least it had a full raster with snow, BW snow at that--so the tube and fly at the least are ok--with a good signal it would likely work fine!!) Anyway--I did not have a lot of time--but I put the 70 on that 21FJP22 tube for a quick "what see".

At FIRST...things did NOT look too good. The red gun did NOT seem to want to come up very far. I figured the tube was dead. This is a shame--since it does NOT seem to have much cataract either !!BUT....wiht a BIT of fil. boost..things looked a LOT better. and AFTER it came up, the red gun HELD on life test too, reasonably into the green range.

Pretty much the EXACT same thing happened on green. Very slow at first, then comes up and STAYS there.

The blue gun started this way...BUT seemed to "jump" at a bit over 7 volts and then like the other 2 guns--stayed this way at 6 volts and on life test. So, it seems that my old tube has been asleep for a lONG time--as I suspected--but ALSO has plenty of life left to give to that combo when I get it in a few months !! and being pretty much cataract-free will be a BONUS too !! So--this seems to be one of the "good" superior tubes--over 40 years after it was rebuilt.

The base is cracked on the tube--but big deal. It will NOT affect it in the set.

Well....as I said before....I would like some interior pictures--before it leaves you for good. I HOPE it is a "good home"...and not a 'butchering".

It's a good home, and the person is going to restore both sets.. I'll take some interior pics for you.. I get a nice zenith roundie in return, as a trade..

Well in THAT case---I will be fine with that. Probably a better home than I could give them anyway.

SO--since I will NOT need that 21FJ tube for this combo--is there any interest in it? SHould I bring it to the meet next week in WI? If it just "lies around in the garage loose" it might not last too long...and that would be a CRIME_-for a good, somewhat clean faced 21FJP22 to get killed needlessly...
