Sony KV-2647RX Looking for a New Home

I have a client who is seeking a good home for the Sony color TV which belonged to her father who recently passed away. The set is operating (with original remote) and is in excellent cosmetic condition. She would like an honest evaluation of its value (if any) and if there is a collector who would be interested in purchasing it from her. The set is in the D.C. area and local pickup could likely be arranged. I wish I could bring it to ETF, but this thing is huge!

If interested in purchasing it, please PM me.

TNX/73,
John

Looks like a late 80s console-not sure if it would be worth anything.

Didn't those have 1 inch press board under the wood veneer? It almost takes a forklift to pick up one of those. Most of them I have seen in the last 15 years had soft (or worse) CRTs. How's this one? (no, I don't want the set.....just curious if the jug is still good; perhaps it is not the original).

Given the style of remote and control layout, I'd place it at around 1983/1984 the 19" Sony my wife and I bought as our first TV had the same remote and control layout.

And, it's likely chipboard. And, weighs a ton. The owner says is looked good on the local CATV system...
