CTC-5 Wingate for sale

We have a CTC-5 Wingate RCA Color TV for sale. It has been in my family since its original purchase. I remember watching it at my grandparents house for those special COLOR TV shows (Wizard of Oz). The set was given to my parents when they purchased a new set. Since then it has been in my parents basement. The last time it was plugged in was approximately 1970. Unfortunately I do not remember if it was producing a picture, I think it was but cannot swear to it. The cabinet is in pristine condition. The set is located in Skokie, Illinois, a collar suburb just north of Chicago. We have been cautioned to not plug it in or turn it on so it sits while we clean out the parents house. We have been advised it has a value of approximately $800 to $1,000.

Thank you!

Nice!

Looks like you are going to have everything from a prototype up to a CTC5 now, Nick.

That set would have a hard time finding a better home.

If I end up with it, the list would go:

prototype
CT-100
21-CT-55
CTC-4 (possibly x2, that's another story)
CTC-5
CTC-7

That's the first 6, in sequential order. Had a 9, but sold it to another member. I really hope I get it, I've been wanting one for a long time now.

Hiya, miniman... congrats on your forthcoming acquisition of the Wingate! Pretty soon you ought to open an antique video museum!
Very impressive lineup of classic tv sets you have there.

Hey Nick,

The OP originally contacted me through my web page wanting to know the value and where they might post the Wingate for sale. I suggested the VK classified. I love my Wingate and enjoy just seeing it standing majestically in the corner of my L.R. I advised the owners NOT to power it up and estimated the value based on a working pix tube and the ability to produce HV to light up that tube.
Glad it's going to a good home. Bring some help, it weighs a ton. Also tie the doors together before moving to avoid them opening and causing damage in transit.
