What is the latest on these flys? I need the FLY-1 that I mentioned way back (first dibs). I still have a lot of NOS flys and yokes and like an idiot I sold my FLY-1s! So if anybody here needs anything you can PM me. It might just be sitting in my inventory. I don't want to step on KC8ADUs toes, so IO would like his blessings before I let anything go that he plans on selling. Most of my stuff is 1950s, with some 1960s black and white yokes.

The other day I talked to a local tv repairman who has been asked to get a CTC-25 combo working. He's been told it has a bad flyback, which would be FLY-308. I know someone else on here is also looking, but you can add me to the list.

An aside,

I was at Chester's in Kenosha recently, and asked mistakenly if they had a FLY-285 (I was off one number, the actual one I needed was 284). He did have the 285, which comes back as an Admiral if anyone needs it.

The 308s and the factory rca numbers seem to pop up often on ebay. Also I have had good luck subbing those with rca clone flys.

Don't get hung up on just Thordarson - Triad made replacement flybacks too:

http://www.triadtransformers.com/tv81.html

The above link takes you to their 1981 cross reference, hosted on Triad Magnetics website. A saved eBay search for the Thordarson/Merit/Ram/Triad/Hallordson/Stancor/Meissner cross reference might help in you search for vintage flybacks. Also, set up a Google alert with each of the part numbers as well:

http://www.google.com/alerts

This is how I got my CTC16 flyback a year or so ago. Google is quicker and more comprehensive than anyone else. They showed me the eBay auction a full day before eBay sent me anything. Also helps in finding stuff through craigslist or Public Surplus. Use it for anything you need to find, but can't. If it shows up on the web, googlebot will find it and alert you.

Cheers,
