Early Zenith For Sale

Hi all,

I recently got a job at an electronics recycling center and someone just dropped off a vintage Zenith TV to be recycled. I didn't want to see this beauty get destroyed, and since I'm already a member here, I had to post it in hopes of finding it a home.

The good:

Case is in really good shape
Includes a cool looking antenna
Looks complete

The bad:

Missing a knob
the backboard is there but falling off

Unfortunately we can't ship this TV, but locals are welcome to stop by and check it out. Asking price is $50, but will consider offers. If we can't find a home in a couple days, it has to get recycled.

Here's where it can be seen and purchased:

Try posting it on Ebay or your local Craigslist. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Zeniths that old so I wouldn't be a good buyer. But I'm sure you'll find someone on one of those sites who's willing to take it off your hands.

Even if you have to recycle it (which I'd hope won't happen), at least save the rabbit ears and some of it's parts. Many VK members are in need of spare parts, including picture tubes, etc.

There's no brightner hanging off that picture tube and it could be saved! May possibly be a 21ALP4. The knobs are worth something too. If it has to be recycled but you're able to keep some parts from it at least be able to reference the chassis and model numbers. The flyback transformer would be worthwhile too. It doesn't have to look good but still could be.

I'd be interested if I was closer!

Your Zenith

The Zenith is interesting..but really heavy to ship.

By the way, that antenna was probably made from rare transistor radio molds...I had a pair.. The Sylvania Thunderbird...

It looks to be from the mid- to late-50's. Am I right?

What is the status of this set? Did you save it? If is was parted out I'd be interested in the knobs. You can PM me also if you like.
