What did you get in kenosha, tom? I live in that hell hole lol. Anyways, are you getting that cabinet? If not, I'd like to see if I can get it here somehow if it's still available. Wayne?

Tom has dibs, but if no response from him by tomorrow, it goes to first taker or trash.

I just want the back (and to prevent the rest from getting trashed). If mark wants the rest, he can have it....Just save the back for me.
Mark, was down there to buy some parts for my '78 Lincoln (got in an accident that messed up the bumper, it's mounts, and a turn signal).....Would have tried to arrange for the CTC-5 pickup at that time, but realized the spare parts I was getting in the deal (rims, trims, and glass) would take up all TV space. I might be able to make a trip there today, but there are a couple of folks that have first dibs on my time that I need to check with.

By all means, get the whole thing if you can Tom. I don't really need it but just wanted to make sure it doesn't get trashed.

I'm in the same boat of not needing the whole thing (I don't think I have room), but I don't want it in the land fill. A friend just had me get a monochrome Motorola that he needed gone before the folks got home.....I don't have room for that either, and will probably part it out or sell it.

PM me or something with a definite evening to pick up pieces or the whole thing. If no definite arrangement, I cannot save it.

Helloooo... does anyone really want to save it (or parts of it), or is it just talk?

I'm out unfortunately. I now am trying to make space for a 1963 Admiral color combo. I don't know what to do with the damn thing.

Ive had a CTC4 director cabinet, no top or back cover, buried in my garage for a few years.
If I want a 21CT662 in need of these parts to show up, I just have to dump it

I've given it a reprieve for one week - so, just one more chance -- anyone?

Wayne,
You've been really patient w/that cabinet. Time to bite the bullet and put it on the curb. -Steve D.

I'm a few hours off from ending the existence of a 21" Motorola monochrome console that my folks say has to go before I can get anything else big. Once it is gone I'll PM you and set up pickup of that CTC5.

Waking up this thread because a brain cell must have just fired - I just realized an interesting thing about my CTC-5.
It has a UHF tuner but was bought and used in Chicago, which (I believe) didn't have a UHF station until 1964. It's model 21-CT-7855U. I believe "U" means the UHF is factory original. So was the UHF sold as a feature to prevent obsolescence? Or, were there any UHF stations receivable in Chicago this early? A secondary question: does anyone know if these sets sometimes had a UHF tuner added at a later date? Do (any) VHF-only CTC-5's have a plugged hole for the UHF shaft? |
