TV Antanna

We still have analog OTA and I double-duty the 50 year old Channel Master fringe antenna on the roof with FM reception as well but it's seriously showing its age and I'm starting to get complaints about the bent or broken elements from the birds and the crumbling plastics. I'm not having much luck on Craigslist of Kijiji finding another replacement antenna unless it's for suburban DTV service and I've found even with a booster they are not sensitive enough for where I live. Where does one find another antenna these days?

Solid Signal appears to stock a large UHF VHF FM antenna that might be suitable, but very expensive.

Yeah not bad considering the crap that costs $40-$80 at hardware stores. Those old school log periodic UHF/VHF combo antennas out perform “digital” antennas.

Wineguard is probably still the best & still US made.
Get the biggest they have with all bands.
Channel Master probably 2nd best.
Both are old time antenna makers along with Jerrold / GI.

Digital is fine, just make sure you get a "color" antenna, otherwise your reception will be completely in black and white!

One precaution.
One of my beefs with digy TV, at least in the olden day, was many sets
lack real ADD / DEL and NO random access the "real" channel.
You had to use the auto program. Channels in a different directions
would not be found. If you do another auto program it will find the
station BUT often erase some or all of the old "list".
SO before buying an antenna be sure the TV's have RAT to the "real"
station & ADD / DELE function.
Also big antennas get very directional. That can get challenging !
Only a click or two on the rotor can make a big difference.
BTW My set is a Sony 32" @2012. Better pix than the new stuff.
BUT it has the above problems I called Sony FS ( we were a REAL Sony dealer). They just said thats the way it is.......
