If there is a dent in the wheel perhaps you can chuck it into an electric drill and sand it down to a smaller diameter. The diameter isn't critical.
I have a turntable I salvaged from a not-so-old stereo combo, I think Magnavox. It uses what looks like a stereo ceramic cartridge that is probably good. The motor is 12 V and the whole thing is built to the lowest standards, although it's belt drive. I wonder what to do with it. Pic available. |

I have an idea what TT it is. It probably used a single-tipped stylus with either a red, grey, or orange body. That's the same cartridge that's used in most current repro record players.

Yes it's single tipped, I think orange or red as I recall, only 45 and 33-1/3 speeds. It's basically unused, in a nice plastic enclosure with a lid. Pretty cheaply made. I ran it and it's fine, although I didn't try to play a record. I would love for it to find a good home.

These are good carts and I've bought 9 of them so far for various record players. I've been buying them for over a year now. [I have no connection with the seller except as a very satisfied customer.] These are billed as "jukebox" quality carts and they do sound very good. Very inexpensive price as well. They come with 4 pin connectors and an LP/LP stylus, BUT you can ask for a 78/LP stylus and the seller will throw one in for free. Hope you get one of these and find it sounds great. |
