A bit off topic but
I saw Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt playing a tune on Beverly Hillbillies, Miss Hathaway was actually singing.
On MeTV this am.

You wouldn't be watching "Dish" at this time anyway if you were here; cloudy out, raining lightly, past half-hour the Dish receiver has displayed "Partial Signal Loss" or "Complete Signal Loss", worthless when there's heavy clouds. Glad I have my TV antenna for locals.

1. Really hard rain (cow peeing off of barn roof magnitude). 2. Dish covered with snow. 3. Fairly close electrical storm. 4. High enough wind to wobble dish. 5. "Solar outages"; a few times each year for a few minutes, when the sun is in line with the satellite being viewed. Is your dish still aimed correctly? jr Last edited by jr_tech; 08-18-2014 at 05:14 PM. |

I mentioned Dish had been out over a half hour when I posted that. Outrage lasted over 4 hours! We had a lot of rain and dark clouds.

And Yep aimed correctly. Good strong signal when the clouds aren't in the way. Common problem amongst the Dish and DTV folks I know. |

And DTV and DISH were the ones telling me my 10' dish was obsolete. I then reminded them they were using my dish's technology to recieve their signals with...

Used to be... in the '90s, when network feeds were still "in the clear" and my 10' Winegard Pinnacle dish was at its peak on C and Ku bands, NBC ran a backup feed on C-band for times when their Ku band feeds to the stations got blocked by dense clouds or other phenomenon. C-band I never saw it cut out except twice a year during the solar outages. Ku would go away with dense clouds and rain just like with Dish and DTV.
