I am sure I saw an RCA CTC1 at the White House during a school tour a decade ago. I was told it belonged to Hillary because she is an avid Vintage TV set collector.

Ummm I don't think they made a CTC 1

The famious CT-100 uses a CTC 2 chassis according to what I read.

Hey Guys!
I have to admit I NEVER read the posts in this forum; I'm an avid collector of vintage audio. This is the first time I've ever even read any posts here. But I have read this thread in its entirety. I don't think yours is a wierd hobby at all. I think its very neat what you do. I'd love to have an old set myself but space restrictions (man you should see this place ) and an absolute dearth of knowledge on how to care for an old set prohibit me. I enjoy seeing what you've done to restore the old sets as well. Keep up the great things you all are doing for the hobby and I think I'll be nosing around in here occasionally.

The 2 was indeed the first production color set, but I wonder if the Model 5 semi-production prototype had a CTC-1? It's not a CTC-2.

I think so, I could be wrong though. This stuff was made thirty years before I was born. I do remember reading something about a CTC-1 prototype chassis. And if Hillary has ANY set pre 1979, she has my vote!

I think you got 'at least some of em, eberts!
BTW, I turn on my CTC-4 about every 2 weeks, unless there is a special program worth watching on a vintage color TV, such as a Technicolor movie, etc.
