RCA CTC-12 with remote find

Hello all. I just picked up an RCA CTC-12 with remote control, model #213G235RV. According to the person I bought it from, it has been out use since about 1975. The picture tube has lost its vacuum, and I have to find a replacment. When I fired it up, the guns started arcing with high voltage internally, so I disconnected the CRT for now. Are there any CRT rebuilders left out there? I am just now getting back into the hobby, the last time I worked on a set like this was in the late 1990s. The motorized tuner appears to work pretty good. I would really like to get this set going again.

Nice set!

Can't help you with the CRT, I just got rid of my last one. Recap it and wait for a good tube, one is bound to pop up before long. No rebuilding available anymore, the last place closed it's doors.

Cool set!

There are presently no American rebuilders that will touch a vintage tube that I'm aware of. Only one that will that I know of is in France...

Good used roundy tubes are not too hard to get...I have two spares (soon to be one as my CTC4 needs a new CRT) and, if you happen to be near Milwaukee, you might be able to sweet talk me into giving you the other one.

I see this is your first post...

Thats a darn shame, I proably figured something like that would happen with the advent of flat screens. Hopefully I can find a good 21FJ somewhere. I have severeal duds from when I used to do this years ago, but none useable. For as long as this set was sitting, should I change ALL the caps, filters, and the maroon ones as well?

@Daave, congrats on your roundie find! This particular one I have looks like it was made around 1962.

Keep your eyes open, there are still a lot of these sets coming out of the woodwork. A rough one with a good crt would make a fine donor, and sometimes complete sets like that are still free. The 12 is a good chassis.
