JVC HR-D470U detects and plays EP only

Hello all,

I have two HR-D470U's one as a spare for parts.

The best one of the two, when you insert a pre-recorded movie, the deck switches to EP and plays (of course) slow.

I'm only interested in recording HIFI audio with this unit.

I have swapped the capstan motors with the same result on both but I suspect this is an electronic detection issue.

Hoping maybe someone had run in to this problem and solved it.
