8080A Resistor Power Rating?
I picked up a Beltron 8080A a couple of years ago, and now I‘m ready to get it back in operating condition. From my initial inspection, the only components I have to replace are lamp bulbs, two electrolytic caps, and these resistors on the voltage select switch .
These are FAT resistors--diameter is 5/16 inch--so I suppose they have a high power rating. Question is, what should I replace them with? Two watt? Five watt? What watt? Also, regarding the indicator bulbs, filaments are shot on three of the five lamps. I understand that they function as fuses, but I don’t know the significance of having so many out at once. Three possibilities are (1) the operator screwed up, (2) the unit malfunctioned, or (3) maybe it’s OK; just try it and see what happens (I have ordered an ample supply of replacement bulbs).
