Does anybody know who this serviceman or company is?

It is obviously a real company even though it is an ad for the post card maker. I wonder if the post card maker got permission to use his likeness? Seems like there is a good chance somebody here knows of the company and person. That is the first time I have seen air conditioning service combined with TV repair. My friend Ed Callahan of Ed's TV would do some air conditioning mostly for friends in addition to his primary service for TV's.

I Googled the phone# with the original area code 201 for northern NJ (My grandfather lived there) and got lotsa hits for that business name! Being Google hits, they may not be very current, but it's somewhere to start! Let us know if he remembers the card...

The building and signage is still there but it sure looks closed.

If you "drive" down the street to the travel bureau and turn to look back to the TV service company... it appears to be open, with all the signs in the windows... cool to examine.

I am amazed that with all odds against it that we found the place that van apparently came from still at the address. I would bet there is a good chance children or grandchildren of whomever owned when that van was in service have it today. I almost feel like I have been part of History Detectives which is a show I love.
Thank you very much everybody.

Jr Tech made an interesting point. If you view the location from a different vantage point, you can see the store as well as the travel agency still open for business. Google must be using some outdated pictures?

"Google must be using some outdated pictures?"

There appear to be several views that show the two establishments "open for business" ... these show an old dark-gray sidewalk. The views that show both "boarded up" appear to have been taken after a new light gray sidewalk was poured, and show construction barriers are still in place in the street. Perhaps the shop and travel agency just closed down during the sidewalk construction? ... or perhaps just protecting their windows from jackhammer scatter?
jr

Wonder if they re-opened after the construction was finished? Anybody here live close to the place?

To me it looks like they just drew the curtains shut - maybe that picture was taken on a Sunday?

I take that back - you can clearly see two realty signs on the pictures with the uncovered windows - one over the right side of the sign and one in a window to the left.

I just did a reverse look-up on the telephone number and it comes back with a different business name...
