"1925 Philco" on ebay

Dang, this would come along when I'm broke!

What's with all the Noobs on eBay recently and their overpriced "Antiques"?

Oh, just go for it. Paypal will let you pay for it in "easy monthly installments".
No problem.

Me too, it looks like the vacuum may have leaked out...... Note that the center of the screen may have had a blast of air blow off some of the phosper.

I thought the same thing when I saw it. The title did make me click on the auction however! You think that 1925 TV is bad? Look what this fool is trying to sell...

Yeah... That's definitely not a 1925 set, like veg-o-matic mentioned, the seller likely meant 1952. But what kills me is the amazing number of people that either don't proofread what they type, or don't know how to spell, or both. And don't even get me started on the lack of punctuation, proper capitalization, or overuse of abbreviations. If you want to sell something, you'd think you'd at least _try_ to make your ad readable.

But, aside from that, it looks to me like that set is installed in a wall. The photo from the back of the television looks like it's sticking into a crawlspace, or into a basement or something. And if you look closely on the first photo, it looks like there's a modern programmable thermostat to the right of the set, and a power outlet down below it, near the bottom of the wall (it's a brown one, hard to see)

$3,000 is totally insane for that set, in that condition though. Actually, it's insane for that set in mint condition...

thing with a Philco is, they make it so easy to date! (at least from the late 30s to early 50s) But I guess he saw some number on the back with a '25' in it and there you go. And I agree about that crt being suspect. This auction is just a waste of space.
