He meant it smells of "mint", I think I can see the car air-freshener stashed next to the P.T.
And I'm sure this set was sealed in its crate....
resting safely at the bottom of a nearby lake.

Incidentally, I went to see the Admiral in the second auction -- the one with the basketweave grille that had been crated for 35 years. It's located about a mile from our house.

Yes, the metal's rusty, but the cabinet was better than any un-refinished vintage TV I've ever laid eyes on. There might have been a teeny white water dot on the top. I don't recall other blems.

I sent the seller a follow-up email after the auction ended with no bigs, but got no reply. I'm not going to beg. Maybe he decided to crate it back up and wait another 35 years.
