67 rca portable with remote
This is a rare find. An RCA portable black and white with the "wireless wizard" remote control. This one came from a resale shop, and works very well. I know the man who checks the electronics and he holds the vintage tvs when they come in which is hardly ever! The original owner must have never used it, it had all original tubes and bright picture. The remote looks and works like brand new. RCA made a little clip on the side of the tv that holds the remote. This is the only rca tv I have with a remote, and I must say, the channel changing mechanisem is much quiter than the zeniths! The volume control is really neat, it has a gear on the shaft of the volume knob, a solinoid with a pin pushes the gear either up or down (there are two solinoids, one for vol up, one for vol down), so you can watch the volume knob move as well as the tuner! The volume solidnoids however are very loud! Also, the rca remotes work at a much higher frequency, as you cannot hear the "ping" like the zeniths. When you go down far enough with the volume, it triggers a micro swich to shut the tv down. This tv has the large master rocker swich on the front panel, as this tv is equiped with instant on feature.
