The old Eico
I recently sold an Eico VTVM to a gent in Brooklyn on the AK side, he was very pleased. In a way the meter was back home.
I still have my old Eico with the BIG meter and I remembered the battery. Yikes, the battery! I opened it up and it was still intact. That cell has been in there since before 1978 and was still trying to make volts, (1.4 no load) and no leak. This was given to me in the late 60s and is among the first equipment I had learning the biz. That old red battery took me back. |

I just found some D cells like that in a German portable RTR recorder my folks gave me for my belated birthday celebration yesterday.

Occasionally I'll acquire something that still has an old Burgess, or Eveready "9 Lives", or such in it. If their not leaking, I like to save them as "relics".
