rca estate sale find

Picked this up at an estate sale this weekend. Like new for the most part. Had all the manuals too. 1960 rca combo unit. Unfotunatly the crt had a brightner on it and of course, the filament is open now. So it needs a new crt. The radio and phono work nice. This has the small neck 21" crt (Dont know the number, Im going to check) It was free as they knew they had to get rid of it and nobody would pay anything for it. Its too big for me, so its free to anyone that would like it.

Control panel

TV tuner and radio tuner and controls are all in here. Oh, the TV seems like it will work, I can hear the flyback ringing and the sound is great for the TV. I immagine if anything is wrong it will be a vertical problem, but I can tell it will have a picture with a new tube

What number is the CRT, I might know where to get one.

Doug,

If you are willing to part it out I'd be interested in the 6BQ5 amplifier chassis, maybe the speakers depending on what's in there. Can you email me pics?

BTW, did you get the portable tube color TV from me yet, and did your stock of 6GH8's arrive?

Hi Rob,

Not sure If im willing to part it out yet. I dont really like to part things out that are in such nice shape.
Oh yes, the 6GH8s arrived. I was a bit dissapointed as quite a few are old tubes in the new box. Im gonna wait and see what happens with this combo unit.

6GH8s and CRT

If you find that the 6GH8's that you received are bad, I have plenty (New and Used)available for the price of shipping. I also have some small neck CRTs but am in Texas and am not how to ship these.

Send me a number, and I will check my stock.

I have bought several tubes from a guy on the East coast, that number is on the list so it's possible he will still have one.

If anyone is seriously interested in fixing this set let me know and I will put you in touch with him. (These tubes have been running $75- up but are new)
