Some ads for programming and sets - NBC, GE
From 1954 - NBC ad for their quality color programming.
From 1964 - GE color TV free 10 day home trial. From 1964 - NBC gathers the largest collection of color cameras ever combined for one event, to present the opening of the New York World's Fair - also mentions the 1939 Fair. |

Anyone notice the GE lifetime PCB warranty? Anyone with a GE roundie should contact them about it if it has a cracked board. They said it's good for the LIFETIME of the set right? The response would be priceless, if they took it seriously at all.

Thank you for posting these documents.
I think the catch with the GE TV warranty will be finding an authorized service center in 2010...

I did see a video where a woman is still driving the car she bought in the middle 1960s. Several auto repair places(Sears, Pennys, Midas, etc.) are not to happy they gave out lifetime warranties on parts over the years. She has taken them up on several of the warranties.

I bought a Ford Taurus once with 97,000 miles on it and then replaced the starter with a "lifetime warranty" rebuilt one. I got three more replacements as I drove that car another 100,000 miles before I sold it.

Man, you have had bad luck with starters. My mother has had two Ford Taurus's and did not replace the starter on either one. One went over 300,000 miles and the present one has around 150,000 miles on it.
Back closer to the subject of the thread-on antiqueradios.com, there is a thread about the extremely el-cheapo 12 inch B&W sets GE built in the early 1960s. I would bet GE did not guarantee the PC boards on these. In the TV shop I cleaned out, there were several of these. Only two had PC boards that were not completely fried. I was able to get these going, but they quit again, so I need to look at them. Everything the thread says about these sets is true! |

Im assuming the "High Fidelity" CRT RCA talks about was the transition from the CYP/AXP to the FJP?
And the Radnor.. That looks as if it's a CTC-15. Hopefully im right consdering the 1964 circa. that was the phase from the CTC15/16. Anyway way cool literature!
