I don't bid on Ebay, just look at it to see different types of sets. Just wanted to pass along the info.

I'm doubting that I'll end up with it, but you never know......I'm willing to bet there are CT owners out there with far deeper pockets than I

There are some additional photos and test results available on this auction now...

Does it look a little more promising...?

Nice solid getters!

Since this was an experimental tube one would think it probably didn't get many hours on it, if any.

So Tim, if you win it are you gonna have it shipped via UPS?

Um....no

I'll see if the guy wants to meet halfway, or maybe I'll just go get it. That's near Shamokin, where my parents grew up, so it might be an opportune time for sightseeing

Well as Kama slept in the wee hours this morning this tube rallied at close to a record high price of $1,825.00 US. Getting the first 15" color TV's going again is a really expensive hobby folks!

Told ya my pockets weren't deep enough!

I noticed 2 AKers in the bid list, did it go to somebody here? If so, way to go!

I've been watching this auction as well, and when I saw the closing price the only thing that popped into my head was "Holy Shit". I sure hope the buyer picks it up! Does anyone out there know the last year this tube type was available as a replacement? I'm meaning when a tv tech would go on a housecall and discover the tube was bad, when was the last year he could easily get a replacement? The reason I was wondering was because in the recent auction for a CT100 the seller had noted that the set was still under an RCA service contract in 1978, and it got me to wondering if the set was under contract and the tube was bad, could RCA still replace it? Anyway.... If someone from AK got this tube, The best of luck to you and hope all works out fine!
