Hello From Maine
Hi everyone!
I am an active member on serveral audio sites including AudioKarma. I think these sites are somewhat related. To be honest I am not big into video. I have a 12 year old 36inch tube beast, dvd, direct tv. I am into hobby electronic repair. Occasionally I seek help on these other sites for repair advise and parts help. I noticed that part of this site is dedicated to Antique Radio. That is why I joined. Thanks for having me. Dennis in Maine |

I am just getting my bench set up. So far I have an Oscope, frequency counter, function generator, HP distortion analyzer, Sencore capacitor analyzer, VTVM, and DVM. I still need an audio signal generator.
It has been a long time since I sat at a bench. I am just getting back into it. I worked with and old fellow who used to collect, repair, and restore old radios. He had quite the collection. I always remember that and thought I might like to do the same someday. So this is new. I have an uncle I am working on who has an old console. I think he will let me have it. Don't remember what the make or model is. To answer your question. I am open. Just what I can find locally. |

Kewl ! Wished I'd had an "Elmer" like that...At 54, I'm too old, & more importantly, too dam thick-headed to learn anymore...Not to mention arthritic Island-Sized Paws...

Welcome!
Pretty much like me-don't do too much old T.V., like old radios, love vintage audio. Like "putzing" around and fixing. |

Thanks everyone!
Yeah, thats describes me to a tee. Quote:
I am also interested in getting a 60's to early 70's stereo console with tube amp and tuner. I like the old look. I have been trying to research different Magnavox consoles. I used to see those for sale quite often. |

By about the mid 60's (64-66) most companies phased out tube circuits in their audio consoles (Zenith was a notable exception).
There was an awesome repair shop in near where I lived in Ill. whose owner was a pro vintage radio restorer, and sold many of his projects (which were always on display in the window). They would fix almost any vintage of electronic device one could find to bring them.
