Upload limits

I reached my upload limit years ago, which is really a pain when trying to make documents available for others. The only reason it doesn't affect me posting images is because I pay for a pro subscription to Flickr.

Is there any possibility of the old limit being increased?

I've been having issues with uploading images in general, even when I cut them down (way down) the servers won't accept them. I can understand the reasoning behind the smaller image sizes however I don't think a source exists today that has a lower limit of 10MP.

Between the upload size limit, and a combination of being close to my maximum upload storage allotment and there being no obvious way to selectively delete unnecessary old attachments I've basically stopped posting pictures.

I do have a Flickr but it's not the most convenient to use with a smartphone so I only use it when I mean business about posting pictures.

I'm not familiar with their server software BUT I'm sure there is a setting to allow AUTOMATIC deletion of very old posts. I realize that it is unrealistic to preserve everything going back to day one of Videokarma!

My images from 2004 are still on the videokarma server despite my inactivity and the split from audiokarma...

Hi to all,

in my opinion, the file sizes allowed for photos and other documents on VK is extremely restricted and has not followed the general trend of increased allowable file sizes now current on many forums.
Probably choices that were reasonable 2000 to 2010, but obsolete now.

The current admitted file sizes for VK are in the 1st attachment.
As an example, the file sizes for the British UK-VRR forum are in attachment #2.

I am often on this French RetroTechnique forum run by Discourse software.
Photo size can be Mbs + audio & video files, pdf's up to 50Mb, etc.

https://forum.retrotechnique.org/

What can be done about this, whom do we query; Kamakiri?

Is this a hosting $$ cost issue or impossiblity to update the Phbbb engine running the forum?

Best Regards

I think they're just too lazy to clean out the server. At some point they'll simply run out of space.
I've been re-sizing everything I post to 640x480 (using Paint) and have not had any problems.

Well, I had problems posting 12MP (3000x4000) on facebook. So I re-size those to 1024x768. And that seems to work well for them.
I have an old HP318 camera that is 2.3 MP that I was going to throw away, but I think I'll keep it now. Its 20 years old, takes AAA batteries that are not rechargeable.

I will sometimes do a relevant post on the audiokarma sister site and cross it over here, ever since the split videokarma has not had the traffic and sadly I don't think it's got much of a future unless things are modernized. They want support I will give it but it will need to be updated.
