convert s-video to composite?
I've been watching alot of tv over the internet lately, and in a desire to actually watch it on a tv and not just my monitor, I swapped my video card for one with an s-video output. Now I just need to know how best to combine the chroma and the luma? Right now I just took some clip leads to the s-video cable and connected them to the luma only (which actually looks just fine on my b/w 1971 Zenith in the pic below)

Here's what I used to display my PC on an old Commodore monitor:
Works great - just make sure the set you are using is not a hot chassis set. Magic smoke might appear and make the dark absorbers go to work.... The resistors I used are 56 ohms, dunno what the original poster was trying to achieve. My value is just what I had and tried first. Cheers,

I forgot to mention that Radio Shack once made a video 2-source switcher that did a similar function - S video in/out, or S video in/composite out. Got mine free from my pastor - he bought everything Radio Shack had to try to watch a show and record another on his all-Sony setup.
He really surprised me - he was a thrift store junkie, but had all quality stuff - thanks to the Salvation Army thrift. Cheers,

Adam-
ave you confirmed that the video board does not also have a composite output? It may be as simple as using a dongle (that may have come with the board) and changing a setting in the drivers. I think that is how the "TV-output" connections worked on the video boards I have messed with in the past. The picture looks great on your Zenith, nice and sharp and linear for a TV set.
