I saw this set back in June at that antique store while heading back from a rockabilly show in Indianappolis. I desperately wanted a color roundie, and at $75 the price wasn't too bad, but I left it. It wouldn't have fit in the truck bed! Judging from the sound of my Curtis Mathes, which is nearly have the size, the audio on this set must have been quite impressive. Aside from the size, the French Provicial look doesn't really match my midcentury modern decor. Had it been on of CM's Danish modern models, I would have strapped it to the roof of the car! I hope this set ends up in good hands, and doesn't become the world's first tambour-door fish tank/bar cabinet.

From what I can see of the chassis, it sure looks a lot like a CTC-16 clone.

Oh I wish that thing was closer to me. I would be all over that set.

I might have to drive down and pick this one up I live in the South Bend, In area. I already have one just like it in a different cabinet style (currently torn down on the bench)

Go for it! We're in Big Spring, TX this morning, just drove from Los Angeles on our way to Dallas to pick up an old Federal model 5 air raid siren that weighs 440 lbs...

You won't find another roundie Curtis Mathes any time soon. Somebody needs to save that one!

FOUND ANOTHER! It's in the Dallas CL:
http://dallas.craigslist.org/clt/436578093.html

I sent a message, and if it didn't sell (Can't imagine that it did,) I might go get it and haul it home. It's right on our way out of town tomorrow. I won't may much of anything, but I'll save it from the dump.

That one is different from the first one-it doesn't have the cup for the CRT neck. Also, it looks like the record player may have never been used, unless the sale people found that tag and put it on the spindle.

Funny-it says the power cord is missing but isn't that it visible in the picture?

Notice that the back photo is not the same item as the TV photo! It's the back of a Sears stereo. I noticed that the back shot shows one large liftlid in the middle, and the cabinet is in a different room. So no photo of the back of the set, and I have the feeling that there is a tube cap on the actual TV. But meantime, No answer... We're leaving Tuesday at lunch, so I'll try one more time. Otherwise, I'll assume it's gone. The ad dates from last week, which I didn't notice at first.

You're right. I looked closely but not that closely!

Good luck on getting the unit.

Case closed

Seller never answered, and now we're 1500 miles back home. Hope the set went to somebody intent on saving it!
