Philco Remote receiver

Not really sure this is the correct forum for this since I don't know if it originally came from a TV or stereo, but since I intend to put it into an early color roundie I figured it's as good a place as any.

I spied this remote chassis on Ebay a month or so ago, but the price was too high till recently for me to put a bid on it. It later came down, and I scored it for $36 shipped. When I opened the box, I realized it was NOS:

I don't know much about it, other than it seems to be from the 60's. It's got 'Cool Chassis' tubes in it and 2 relays, so I think I can control 2 functions with it. Model RC-55, if you've heard of it before post up what you think it's from. I'd be interested to know.

In a different auction, I picked up an RCA remote tuner motor in the original box:

It has the correct shaft opening for a TV-123 tuner...

A remote controlled TV-123, huh? Now I know which one of the hand full left to wait for on rare set the market.

That sounds like a cool project!

This information might help:

http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philco_...rol_rc_50.html

Looks like a supersonic remote which controlled channel changing and on-off/volume.

Now all you need is the remote.

Did you also get the pre-amp module with the 6AU6? I figure it's mounted near the front of the cabinet so the mic will have good pickup.

This doesn't have an aux amp, nor the facilities to hook one up. Perhaps the later versions had enough amplification not to need the extra one? Time will tell, I've got to run some tests with the RCA remote I have and hope it puts out the right frequencies till I find the correct remote that goes with it.

Do you just need the pages for the remote receiver/transmitter? I'll send them to you tonight.

Yep, just need the schematic info please. From what I gather this receiver will only operate 2 functions, just need to be sure of the connections before I wire it up and try it out.

Major goof on my part: apparently this is RC-55 not RC-50, not sure how much different that makes it but that might account for the absence of a preamplifier module. I can't find a SAMS reference for it, anyone know?

RC-55A is covered in Sams folder 555-2. Just sent you a scan of the remote pages.
