Burnt resistor?

Well, I think I might have overlooked this the first time I removed the chassis from my ctc-16... What exactly would lead to the destruction of a resistor on pin 1 of the 6bk4 shunt regulator tube, it burned in two, from what I can make out it looks to be a 1000 ohm resistor, but cannot make out the tolerance... this is the fed +400 v supply.. Im in the midst of replacing all the lytics in the cans.. Do you guys know the exact for this reststor?

Yes, this is a 1000 ohm resistor...This resistor is so you can calculate the 6BK4 cathode current...you can measure the voltage across it to find the current. As I remember, 0.8-1 volt is normal (usual 6Bk4 cathode current should be around 0.8-1 ma or 800-1000 microamperes)

Oh, does this resistor cause any operating issues, and why would it burn in two?

Resistors usually burn up because there was too much current through them. I'd look for a shorted component (including the tube) in the associated circuitry. When you finally replace it, make sure you use one of the same wattage.
