Craigslist RCA Roundie

Here are a couple pictures of the set I picked up yesterday off craigslist. The picture tube is a Hi-Lite H21GVP22 that was installed in 1970. If anyone out there has a spare cover for the controls that I am missing I would be interested in it.

Nice set! That's a "high-end" tube in there as well. IIRC HI-Lite is a Grade A or AA tube (all new) I think Colorama were the rebuilds. Weird the control cover is missing. There was a CTC-20 listed recently that was missing its control cover as well.

Nice score Sam! Have you had a chance to check the emissions on the tube yet? That's a set that should really be in your living room, as nice as that cabinet is. You should be able to come up with a cover for the controls eventually, they built a lot of CTC-15's.

I hooked it up to my tester. The red and green gun show great emissions. When I try to set the gun balance on the blue gun the dial just shoots right up. Don't know if there is something wrong with the tester?

As far as the cabinet, unfortunately the owner had a blanket over it while it was in a storage unit. I'm guessing during the summer it got so hot in the unit that some of the fibers fused with the finish. I tried to remove some of it but it just took the finish off with it. Still presentable but if I wanted it to look perfect it would need some work.

They built a lot of CTC15's, but not with that control panel. That's the more expensive model.
I see it also has the RCA UHF converter kit installed. That was another one of RCA's mysteries!

Nice set!
A version of that same control panel was on a higher-end BW chassis KCS136ZD I had once.

Well.....I ended up with this set. Sam decided he didn't have the room for it, so I went and picked it up this morning. I'll start a new thread......
