Jack Benny 1955 color episode to air

Not to get you too excited, this broadcast is being televised in B&W. If you receive the Antenna TV retro channel in your area this show is scheduled to air this Thurs, Oct. 20. It airs at 12:00 midnight here in L.A. OTA on KTLA 5.2 and Time-Warner cable channel 139. Check your local listings. The episode titled: "Jack Goes to a Carnival" was a film presentation. First telecast on CBS on March 6, 1955 at 7:00 pm in L.A. and strangley at 7:30 pm in New York City. As I said this is a B&W print, but you can imagine how dazzleing a carnival setting would have looked to those few color set owners in 1955. The entire show was filmed in a studio. I have a B&W DVD copy of this episode and nowhere in the credits does it list any color process. This was the only Jack Benny program to be filmed in color in the '50's. CBS selected several filmed series to have one time color telecasts in the 50's. Including Burns & Allen. I viewed that restored 1954 episode in color at UCLA in Jan. of this year.
