I finally emailed this guy. He says a couple of people are interested. If they don't pan out he's gonna contact me. Let's hope TV engineer or one of us is on it and not a fishtanker if I don't hear back from him.

I've driven to Philly for a roundie before, but right now no time, no space, no money...other than that, I don't know why I haven't bought it yet!

I was told I'm second in line last week...
I have the seller's address and phone number and he has mine, and I will hear from him if the first interested party doesn't follow through. Last edited by TV Engineer; 04-03-2011 at 01:24 PM. |

I sure hope the 1st in line is one of us and not a fishtanker or flat screen inserter.

I received an e-mail from the seller this morning.
The first interested party never contacted the seller, so, since I am next in line, he is offering it to me. I have indicated that I want it, and will be making arrangements to retrieve it from him later today. Incidentally, FYI: The seller indicated to me in our previous correspondence that he was taking the ad down since he had two interested parties. He did as he said. So, consider it sold, to me. You are correct JC Fitz. You don't need his e-mail for anything now. |

I picked the set up from the seller last week. After removing the back cover to check the CRT, which is an RCA service company replacement installed in the early 80s that tests as new, I discovered that it is in fact a CTC16X chassis. The cabinet is also in very nice condition.
I have done nothing with the set other than store it safely on my porch, as I have no idea when I will begin restoration. But, just so ya'll know, the set is saved! |

The RCA Service Co couldn't have installed too many more round tubes after that! How late did that progam run, anyway?

I had already indicated here that I had contacted the seller. Attempting to do an end run around me is rather underhanded and is certainly unethical. Nuff said. |

I disagree. That's like saying if I bid on a set on eBay, I call dibs and nobody else can bid. It's all about who wants it more.
At the moment, I have no sets of this kind, and I really want one. If I wanted it bad enough, I'd have driven to Philly to get it and offered the guy $100 more than you paid. But I don't, so you got it. If it wasn't for this post, chances are you would have never known about it.
