Toshiba 400KB22 Colour tube data
Hi
I have a Toshiba 400KB22 tube which tests very good the neck looks like a 21FJP22 but the face plate screen is about 17in rectangular. Has anyone have data on this this tube such as the max EHT voltage as I was thinking of using it as a test tube for use with my RCA CTC11 / 16 roundies. It was used in the Silvertone 5170 TV what was the max EHT used in that TV? Thanks Keith |

The Sears 5170 is in Sams 764. The schematic shows 19.1 - 19.5 KV from the 6BK4 regulator to the CRT anode.

Yeah man, there's probably only one of those per gross of anything that will fit those RCAs!

I've heard some discuss the possibility of using those small screen fat neck Japanese color CRTs as crude a sub for the 15GP22*, but no one that discussed it had one to try it with.
You might be able to make a fortune selling that CRT to a CT-100 owner. *IIRC the face will fill the mask, the deflection angle is close enough of a match...One would need to swap the socket on the TV chassis, and there would be no dynamic convergence (unless one were to copy the convergence circuit off a 21CT55), plus some mounting considerations. If you're looking for a test tube for your CTC-16/11 have you considered investing in a purpose made test jig? Telematic made some good ones. The early jigs were table top roundys sans chassis, and there were later 19" rectangular CRT compact color test jigs that could do all color sets from the 21CT55 (CTC-2B) up thru the inline SS sets...

Hi
Thank you all for all the information about the 400KB22. I was hoping to use it in a test jig for my roundies but the lower rating 19.1 - 19.5 KV for the high voltage seems to low for these T.Vs. Thanks Keith |
