Early rooftop TV antennas...

Wasn't sure which group to post this on but I thought I'd do it here first. Anybody still feed their old television with a rooftop antenna of that era? Looking through some old electronics books I have come across pictures of the different types of antennas used in the 50's and 60's. Those conical and stacked conical antennas look way different than today's antennas. Even those yagi and VHF (log periodic?) antennas don't resemble anything I know of today. I think there is someone here in my neighborhood that still has a stacked conical on their house- I'm sorely tempted to go up to their house and ask if they still use it.
