21fbp22

How much would you think a 21FBP22 NIB be worth? I may have a line on some but I won't know for a couple of weeks.

FBP was a gasket mounted separate safety glass? Would that glass and gasket generally come with the new CRT?

I suppose a small catch of those would create quite a frenzy if they get listed on ebay, but it all depends on how many there are. One at a time always works to the sellers advantage. For reference - a few b&w 21" NOS RCA recently sold for $100-150 each, plus most buyers paid a hefty shipping fee.
I'm guessing a known good NOS color roundy CRT could bring $300-500 at auction.

My reference is what a restored one would cost if Scotty were still in business - in the $400 or so range - so NOS that tests good should be in that range and up, I think.

that would be really nice to find an old barn with 20 nos 21fb-fj in boxes leftover from an old tv shop that the owner hoarded all these years, then died and the family just wants them cleared out. that maybe asking for a large miracle, but hey you never know.

I would agree, they are worth at least as much as the last rebuilds cost. Odd how a set with a good 21FBP22 will often sell for less than what folks would pay for a good crt alone.

No, it would not have been known if the safety glass was curved or flat, replacing a 21CYP22, etc. so it was not supplied.

The safety glass would just be reused as in most cases.

The bonded/etched glass is actually thinner on an FJ than the safety glass for an FB. You can salvage your bonded type and mount it to the FB and you'll basically have an FJ.

I'm out of touch with prices on those, but I can't see more than $250-$300, since you can still find beat-up roundie color sets for that or less on CL now & then, with good CRTs. The ones that would bring big $$$ would be the 21CYP22 or 21AXP22, but even those I couldn't see much over $500 NOS (verified good as of today, as "NOS" can be DOA).

I'd like to get hold of a couple of the black matrix military 21FJP22s; I think HR19VGUP22.
