Post those 1950s color roundies
Hey everybody show us your roundies I have a RCA VICTOR CTC9 blonde cabinet 1 day a friend of mine showed me this set so I offered him 300 clams for this tv back in 1999 when my flea market was doing well so he kept himholling around and then 1 day in 2002 after the death of my 11 year old daughter another friend that we knew in common was having a yard sale and this tv was stored in his basement so I picked it up for 50 bucks and boy was our friend mad at both of us he does not speak to us any more so whatever happens do not store any vintage set in a friends basement his loss is my gain..

Here is a CTC-9C (I think) that I got just about a year ago. This photo was taken whilst it was sitting in the driveway right after I brought it home. It was about 18 degrees and windy that day! All that I have done is to replace the CRT because the one in this set had zero emission on all three guns. It had been running with a "brightener" on it. I replaced the electrolytic capacitors and it got a raster so I was very, very happy. It is in queue now...

It's as simple as having the cash to buy one, my friend...

I've still got Mr Anderson to fix someday.
That would be a 1958 CTC 7. I've got the itch to get back in to it soon, right now a early 60's Silvertone took cuts in line and is getting my attention first, for no other reason than it may be easier to get going. |

1957 version of the same set. Yours will be every bit as nice someday, it will make you proud!

I like stealing them - sneaking a CTC-9 through a window while the family slept was one of the greatest thrills of my life.

It's rough, but ain't no one getting it from me without a fight (or a ridiculous sum of cash/crazy far-in-my-favor trade).

Here's a 1959 RCA CTC9 Caulfield set. Needed filters, a few tubes, some cleaning, and a thorough set up. Has the original 21CYP22 crt. Looks pretty good for 53 years old.
Here's a 1957 RCA CTC5 Aldrich with the optional base and the Super chassis. This set needed a full restoration of the chassis, some tubes, and a full set up. Still has the original 21AXP22 crt. |

Here's a screen shot from my 1958 RCA CTC-7AA, "Abington." It's my only roundie and still a work in progress.

Here's a 1956 CTC-5 super(The Stanwyck). Needs a complete restoration. Not the original CRT(21cyp22). Also a 1959 CTC9A just like Ampico-Kids's. Works but needs more love. Very high hours set and not the original CRT. It has had at least 5 replacements. The last one in 1983 not including the one I did. Original hang-tag.
