B&K 1250 NTSC Generator
I picked up one of these real cheap, and I think I found out why. Power supply voltages look good, but I don't think the master clock is running. Anyone have a schematic I could bum, either a copy or email scan? Or know of a place it's posted online? Thanks for any help.

B&K 1250 NTSC Generator
Hi Kevin,
I have a 1250 that the video works on, but not the audio. It has the original manual which includes the schematics. I have it packed up because I was about to list it on another forum when I came across your post. If you'll give me $10 for the box, packing and tape plus actual shipping cost I will send it to you. If you want to figure shipping cost the box is 23X17X11 and the package weighs 15 lbs. I have pics I can email of the unit working. If interested email me at raynorman@comcast.net. I just dont need it anymore and I would rather not send it to the landfill if someone can use it. Ray Last edited by raynorman; 02-10-2011 at 09:19 AM. |

Ray,
Thanks for the offer. As much as I'd like to have that manual, I don't think I can justify spending another $30 on a parts unit. Kevin Last edited by Kevin Kuehn; 02-08-2011 at 11:59 PM. |

I guess I should have never overlooked the obvious. I called B&K out in CA, and a very nice tech support guy emailed me the schematic N/C. Pretty good customer support considering this unit is over 30 years old.

I got mine working. The crystal master oscillator would not run at first. So I unsoldered the oscillator transistor to check it (checked good), then soldered the transisitor back in and the darn thing took off. Then I cleaned all those switch contacts with some Deoxit, and all seems fine.
These are very nice pattern generators that likely cost big bucks in their day. Hopefully someone can use that one Ray has. I can't imagine it will be too hard to get the audio oscillator working. That's a completely separate analog circuit from the video. Kevin Last edited by Kevin Kuehn; 02-09-2011 at 12:15 AM. |

Glad to hear you got it working Kevin.
If anyone is interested in the one I have, just email me at raynorman@comcast.net . I have used it extensively for the last 18 years but I just don't need it anymore and don't want to throw it away. Ray |

Ray,
I'd suggest you list yours in the classifieds here on this site, as well as over on the Antique Radio Forum classifieds. Kevin |
