Quote from auction title: Put flat screen inside/fishtank

Say it isn't so Please someone save this tv from such an awful fate.
The cataract is pretty bad but it can be saved. If I was closer I'd put a bid on it.

The top comes off, is it supposed to or did someone start a project with it already?

Looks a lot like my CTC-11. I don't know how a 10 might differ.

The top panel on mine isn't detachable. That one looks a little raw. I wonder if they tore it off in anticipation of "repurposing."

Speaking of roundies, how about this Zenith?

No restoration required, from the look of it.

Geez thats a nice zenith. I would def get in on that but its just too far (12 hrs one way...)

I see another roundie behind that zenith, I wonder if the seller is a member here?

I asked how long he would be willing to hold for pickup just in case.

Other than those cloverleaf convergence assemblies that are prone to breaking that Zenith is a beautiful set!
And judging by that label on the CRT, that's a replacement rare earth phosphor type!

well if Sandy or someone else from TN does not jump on it I may end up having to make the drive. I have fam in Phenix City AL, about 5 hrs to nashville... man that would be a haul.

oh and the guy cant hold if for long so pickup has to be pretty quick.

I will be picking up the Zenith next Thursday. The seller is selling the house and moving out of state. I will look for any other sets there. He will not be there but said he could have family meet me to get the set.

Got the Zenith home. It does work, but will need some attention. The cabinet looks great. CRT is nice and bright, but there is a minor lineraty problem, and the focus could be better. I did try it before I left. Color locked in solid, and the sound was fine. It's electronic problems are only minor.

Fun. With one in that condition, my motto is, "Above all, do no harm."

A good setup and convergence will go along way. Lineraty issue may have been from the DTV converter. I will use generators and DVD's. Color alignment looks good, and I think it will make a good B/W picture after touching up greyscale. It will make an awsome picture when set up right. I did notice some of the controls are slightly dirty, but they should clean up fine. I will get pictures up soon. Finals are comming up so it will be next month before I get to do much.
