Hi from Penthode

My name is Terry alias Penthode and this is my belated introduction. I have been afflicted with vintage television syndrome for many years. I hoped this forum might provide a substitute for TV acquisition.

Part of my problem is my belief that the NTSC was responsible for the greatest coordinated development of technology.

I am a broadcast engineer and this forum provides relief. Most of my friends only look with disdain at the old TV sets which I admire. I particularly like early RCA televisions (black and white or color). Zenith and Dumont sets are tied for a close second. (However, a humble Muntz has its own unique appeal).

I am glad I was able to find a community with similar afflictions.

Sincerely,

Terry

Really glad to have you here. As a teenager I told anyone who asked that I planned on becoming a broadcast engineer; I chickened out without even taking the first real steps.

Hi Terry,

It's great to have you here. And thanks for helping me out with my RCA retrace problem. I still need to hunt down what's causing the early retrace. My problem is too many irons in the fire during our short WI summers. That, and I keep moving slower every year.

Kevin

Thanks for the kind words all.

It is encouraging that this group shares the interest in these amazing bygone machines and keeping them running.
