Geez, looking at the past listings, those can go for a lot of dough.
According to the listing, they don't ship at all.
It's an HC chassis. Possibly, the second production, around the 1968 model year. I might have the older 11SP22 CRT.
I don't think Robb would want it anyway, too grungy. Even though, it's cheap enough.

The seller will ship if he/she has to, but local pickup is preferred. Seems that info was added very recently.

I tried "Porta Color" in a search string as well, didn't work.

That's what I posted in entry #76.
I only want sets that look decent, without a whole lot of detailing. I did a lot of cleaning of sets, to make them more presentable, through the years.
Robb, of Canada! The last Porta-Color I bought would meet your high standards. Granted, it was a little pricy, but well worth It.
BTW, it was probably the last run of the tube P/C. The tubes and parts were code dated 77-13. Interesting!

Collecting isn't as fun when you never have to do anything to the sets. These aren't coins dude.

The first thing I did with my P/C, after trying it out, to see how well it worked, was remove the back cover.
Even though, I've worked on them before, I wanted to see if any repairs were done on it before and the dates of manufacture.
I still have to repair the antenna terminal board, where the UHF terminals were pulled loose. Easy fix! And replace the rod antenna that is kinked.
Every day, wear and tear.
BTW, The newer chassis using the high focus voltage CRT's, don't use the hated .1 mfd, 1200 volt boost filter.

Time is better spent looking for more working sets, rather than spending hours and money repairing !

I dunno, to each his own. To me, the repairing is the fun. Once it's done, I get bored with it

Know any US-bound vacationers? We get a lot of Canadians that come to Virginia Beach - you might try using a pony-express style transport instead of shipping. Simply find vacationers traveling with a camper or motorhome, and see if they would be willing to bring back your PortaColor, once you find one...

Cheers,

The Portacolors are not particularly reliable and I would expect not much time has been spent by collectors since these sets were cheap.

I enjoy regularly taking mine apart and fixing it. For that matter, I like vintage color TVs because they were not particularly reliable and they need frequent attention. Because I moved my CTC5 across the room today, the purity was out. I degaussed it, reset the purity and touched up the convergence and grey scale only this afternoon.
