13" Zenith Chromacolor II Set
Hello everyone, I just spotted today for sale on FB Marketplace a 13" Zenith Chromacolor II set locally for $20 and I'm going to try and get it, but I am not sure if its all solid state or if its a hybrid model and also the seller says its working but I'm not sure what that means because I'm sure that the TV is going to need some work done to it to make it function 100%.
What do you guys think? No pictures yet as the listing is still active and I haven't heard from the seller yet as to whether or not I have the unit yet or not. |

They're all SS, not common, and heavy as a19" set (you'd swear they were filled with concrete).
They're susceptible to all the issues a CCII console is, but packed denser and less easy to work on. It might still work fine. Better than 75% of CCIIs I encounter are still working. If it produces a snowy raster with no signal it's fine.

Get it !
When they came out the first one I unpacked wound up on the front seat of my Olds Toronado ('72) then the bedroom. I think I ran it into the 90's no problems then sold it. It is a full blown 25" chassis stuffed in a bread box. Much the same as CC2. BUT its an in line CRT, new ( safer ) vert, Some parts moved to a CRT PCB. & still an anchor sixed power transformer. All circuits are basic so very easy to fix. 73 Zeno LFOD ! |

I heard back from the guy and now I'm just trying to figure out logistics for picking it up. If I can get this and it is indeed still fully functioning, I might use it in my dining room in place of the 9" Zenith System 3 unit I've been using with a converter box.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. No digital nothing and as reliable as the sunrise.

Well the guy ended up changing his mind and decided to keep the TV so I'm going to have to ask that this thread be removed since I didn't end up with it after all like I thought I would.

Typical crap from Crags list etc. I will be cleaning out ham gear & electronics this yr but I see so many A-H's playing games I probably wont do it

I made a deal on a CTC 27 and went to pick it up 120 miles away and the guy backed out at the last minute, I'm a pretty big dude and got up close and personal about the gas... he paid for it.

A 13" remote CCIIs was the one that got away for me for a while... before the plandemic I gave a ride to a swapmeet to a friend and he snagged one dirt cheap before I noticed it, and all I got was the chance to power it up and drool over it....Last year at the ETF 2 showed up and I missed both....Then I bought another one from a collector who was cleaning out...And it's a Space Command 400! (The other similar ones were 100s and 200s).
If you keep your eyes open long enough it's often possible to find stuff you miss the first go around.
