When I'm configuring laptops for customers I try to set them up with PCIE SSD and save the SATA for storage. I've been using them for a few years now, I can't go back to an OS on a HDD.

All of my personal (and work for that matter) PC's are from junk salvage, and I love Win7 after finally being forced off of XP. I was working Desktop Support during the XP/Vista transition Grrrrrrr is all I can manage to say about that. Sadly I do have to keep a Win10 setup just to be informed when I take in repairs and to answer questions when my mom, or the farmer down the road calls.

My wife goes to the Apple store every few years and kills any computer budget we may have. She is a graduate student finishing up her specialist and already accepted into the doctorate program (Education) in fall, she actually does important stuff and NEEDS a dependable laptop that can handle the abuse she puts it through. So Windows inside a piece of plastic will not work for her. She does save me some though, last time (Jan 2014?) I got to upgrade my 32gb ssd to 128, got a Pioneer BD-R drive, and 4TB hd.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Lets figure out how/when to do this and I guess most important is if he would even be interested. Cash is a little tight at the moment, but I think I can swing shipping.

Oh, just remembered. The DVD drive has an intermittent issue, it will randomly loose power and no longer be recognized until you restart or just sleep and come back. I'm pretty sure it is a driver issue as well. I have not noticed it since I've started using the chipset drivers from AMD rather than Samsung, and it has never happened during an install. If you install via USB use the ports on the right side, the left ones are 3.0 and don't work properly until you install the drivers.

I know this was awhile back. but y'all have NO IDEA how much it means/meant to me that y'all were THAT concerned about a dyspeptic old redneck Crank.. AK & especially here at VK, I think we generally have about the CLASSIEST group of guys that I know of. Assed around all fall & most of the winter & didn't get the Puterator back hittin' on all eight a LOT longer time than it should have taken... Been havin' some health issues, too. Been trying hard to do myself in since Thanksgiving. Have had a jag of getting crossed up w/my Feets, & taken several spectacular falls. But it ain't ALL bad-Went Ass over teakettle, & had a whole restaurant full of cute Waitresses fall out & minister to me... Was on the ground, trying to get up, but I was in my wife's Touareg, & the whole front end of it is soft plastic, & there ain't nothin' to grab aholt of & pull yrself up with.. Have had a few really juicy scrapes & cuts, but SO FAR nothing to get all discombobulated over. Old, fat & Clumsy-Story of my life now...2 nights ago got up to Hit the Head-tangled up in my feet, fell acrost the side of the bathtub, knocked the wind outta me, & breathin' in or out has been a new experience in agony.

Yes, Sandy G, we love ya. We care about ya. And above all your well being. Please save the amateur stunt gig for me (I know how to fall). Promise me you will get a used Panasonic ToughBook CF 30 or CF 31, those are klutz resistant. Don't ask me how I know.
