Kamkiri
I stopped off at an electronics recycling plant today and there was a few vintage tv's. Cabinets are toast, but some of the electronic parts seemed ok. The fellow just lets me pillage the yard for parts. I scooped about 20 tubes today, mostly rectifiers and a few 6SN7's. Anything to look for or on your want list? I'm going back next week.

Well, aside from whole sets (smaller ones), the only other rare commodity is knobs. You can't ever have enough knobs!
Thanks for the offer! What kinda sets were there?

LPD,
I guess you know that the rectifiers and 6SN7's have audio applications. As far as the other tubes, pull the sweep output tubes 6BG6, etc. BTW, 6BG6 is a good audio tube also. If you run across any color TV's that have 6JE6 sweep tubes please grab these tubes if its not much trouble and the 6BK4 shunt regulator, damper and HV rectifiers. I'd gladly pay the postage if you want to send them to me. I could use them for my color restorations. All tube set color TV flybacks are also a good thing to grab. Rob |
